Krissy and I are saddened to announce the passing of our pet Waify. To those of you who know me, or stayed at our place, you probably knew that I was way too attached to my cat, Waify. I "rescued" Waify around 1998 and we were inseperable ever since. Krissy often joked that I liked the cat too much. Waify always seemed to appreciate the better life I showed him. He was loyal, followed me everywhere, came when I called him, and was generally everything one could want out of a feline friend. It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my feline friend, who was diagnosed with incurable cancer a mere few weeks ago.
As I ponder my feelings and the great sadness I feel, I have been thinking about how it can be that the passing of a pet can affect me so. It may be because I have always been his entrusted caretaker, and can no longer protect him. Also, he cannot speak on his own behalf, so I can only imagine or feel for him what his final days were like... At any rate, I know I was blessed with such a great pet and can only be saddened that he was not able to spend a few more years as my companion.
In Waify's honor, I leave you with a couple of pictures, and a video of Waify playing with his beloved pal Bogey.
Well yesterday was the 2 week doctors appt, though it was closer to 2 1/2 weeks. Danielle is up to 9 lbs, 12 oz already, but she has also grown 1 1/2 inches so she is staying proportionate. She is really doing great, she is having a fussy couple of hours each day, but for the most part is letting us get some sleep, and just generally sitting there looking cute.
Krissy loaded up Danielle in the Bjorn with a sun had and went out for a walk with a friend. Here Cousin Avery (15 months) is introduced to Danielle. She liked her so much she blew her kisses and then gave her a smooch.
Baby has been out for a couple of strolls now. On this occasion she decided to cry except when the stroller was going "off road" and bouncing all over the place. I thought it was quite amusing, but apparently it's normal.
So, as you can see, Danielle is no longer grounded... oh well, I guess we just aren't strict parents.
Danielle had some visitors this week. Grandma and Grandpa DeRemer were here for several days. They both got along great with the baby, and gave us a great anniversary present by baby sitting while we went out for dinner!
Below, Hannah and Madalyn Dashiell came by to say hi. I'm not sure, but you might be looking at Danielle's future baby sitters here.
